Significance of Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar. This month is observed by Muslims worldwide by fasting during daylight hours. Muslims worldwide fast to commemorate the first revelation of the Qur'an to Prophet Muhammad.

Ramadan is considered the holiest month of the Islamic Calendar as it commemorates Allah sending the Archangel Jibril to Prophet Muhammad to reveal the first verses of Qur'an to him.

Every muslim is past the age of puberty and is mentally and physically fit must observe the month and fast.

This annual observance of fasting is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims aspire to become more pious and generous to others while exercising self-discipline.

During this month, Muslims try to spend more time praying, expressing Dua and reciting the Qur'an.
